Everyone knows that the film industry and the music industry are highly interconnected. In fact, they depend upon one other to make themselves complete. Filmmakers depend on musicians for soundtracks, and musicians depends on the visuals that filmmakers provide for music videos, TV promotions, live video recordings, and much more to help promote and sell their music. The Wolfpack Film Group in association with AMFM Productions wants to help bring it all together in one awesome Rockin’ event held in the live music capital city, Austin, TX. The Wolfpack Film Group is proud to announce The FIRST ANNUAL Wolfpack on the Prowl Battle of the Bands Music Competition. (WPoP)
The WPoP is a music event that will donate to a few notable charities that do a great deal to help the misfortunate here in the Austin area. The first Charity is Loaves and Fishes, which is an organization that feeds the poor and homeless around the city on a daily basis. We will also donate to Safe Place, which is an organization that helps sexual and physical abuse victims. Aside from the monetary donation to these organizations, we plan to hold a food and clothing drive at the event. The food and clothing collected will be distributed between the charities attached to the WPoP and given to the homeless people around Austin.
A new Non-Profit organization, founded by a long time member of the Wolfpack Film Group will be launched at the WPoP. This organization is called Kombat Kids Foundation. The primary goal for this foundation is to establish educational scholarships of different denominations, which may be applied to college, private, vocational, or parochial schools for children of all ages who have lost a parent in a combat zone.
The first two scholarships will be established in honor of 2nd Lt James Michael Goins and Spc. Mark Anthony Zappata, both of which were killed in combat in Najahf, Iraq August 15, 2004 serving with the 1st Cavalry Division of The U.S. Army. More scholarships will be established in the future.
The WPoP will also be a drive to collect much needed care package items for our soldiers in Iraq (phone cards, socks, protein bars, vitamins, etc.). These items will be donated to an organization that sends care packages to our troops, or The Wolfpack Film Group will send care packages directly to the soldiers.
WPoP is going to be a huge event that does a great deal for the community, because of this we expect to gain a large amount of press, a good deal of community support, and a HUGE turn out!
Promotion:
WPoP has the backing of a Popular Austin Publicist, Christine Thompson, who just recently and very successfully provided the publicity for:
· The Austin Movie Show (A Wolfpack member http://amfmstudios.com/ams).
· 27 Heaven, an Off Broadway Play, (http://amfmstudios.com/27heaven).
· The Red White and Blue Festival (http://amfmstudios.com/rwb).
· The Austin City Limits After Party, Funky Batz! (http://amfmstudios.com/funkybatz).
· Many other clients http://amfmstudios.com.
Christine has plans to launch a Very large publicity campaign for the WPoP, and has the ability to blast thousands of news outlets WORLDWIDE. She receives a very good response from the local and worldwide press communities when she sends out press releases, sometimes receiving many thousand hits in only in a couple hours. During past promotional campaigns she has drawn the interest of TV news reporters, the FOX 7 Morning Show, radio station morning shows, TV interviews, columnist write-ups, print news reports, online e-zine articles, and featured spots on many websites around the globe.
The promotional campaign for the WPoP will kick off at the end of March. There are several steps to the promotional plan which include:
· Local, national, and worldwide press releases sent out about the WPoP.
· Interview about the Wolfpack Film Group and the WPoP on the Austin Movie Show.
· Invite the local TV media to cover the event.
· Invite radio stations to cover the event.
· Then the WPoP street team will hit Austin’s streets with fliers to promote the WPoP at:
· First Thursday, where many Austinites congregate,
· Bars and clubs on or around 6th St. with posters and fliers about the WPoP.
· We will also hand out fliers on the college campuses around Austin to
gain interest from the large student population in our area.
We believe that the Wolfpack has a very sound promotion campaign planed for the WPoP, and there is a large turnout expected.
The local press, on a regular basis, looks to Christine for stories relating to the local film and music community. Christine believes that Austin has been waiting for an event like WPoP for a long time. The WPoP will not be just ANY music event; it will help unite the local music and film communities for a good cause. The term, “Starving artist,” is tossed around daily in an art friendly city like Austin. WPoP is an event where Austin’s local “Starving artists,” reach out to the real hungry, cold, abused, homeless, and very much overlooked members of our community.

About The Wolfpack Film Group:
The Wolfpack Film Group is a collective group of local independent filmmakers, who have a driving goal to produce large budget feature films. The Wolfpack is comprised of a combination of professional and amateur filmmakers and artists working in all facets of the filmmaking process that have joined forces, pooling their resources, and are dedicated to creating quality independent films. Wolfpack members collectively have the resources to take large or small film projects from concept to completion. Our goal for the group is to create an awesome network of filmmakers and artists who can come together, work together, and really show what independents are capable of
Robin Blesch, the creator of the Wolfpack, is interested in meeting other Independent filmmakers in the Austin area, that are interested in learning more about the filmmaking group.
"I'm NOT ONLY looking for standard CREW MEMBERS. My group is open to people who do anything that is a resource to filmmaking. Some members in the group include: costume designers, seamstress/tailors, SFX makeup artists, stunt men, fight choreographers, costumers, weapons masters, web designers, artists, CGI artists, Compositors, Etc.
I AM ONLY looking for people with a good work ethic who expect to put into the group as much as they will get out of the group; People who can get along with others; people who work hard, but know how to have fun.
My group is an easy way to network with other filmmakers, build up your reel, get your film produced, and have a great time!"
How to become a member of The Wolfpack
Submit your resume, a list of possible assets to the group (skills, equipment, locations, etc.), and a reel, if you have one, to: wolfpackalpha73@yahoo.com
Potential members must work with the group on a production, and then be accepted into the group.
How the Wolfpack Film Group works:
If a member of the group needs help on a project that is not a profit making production, members will volunteer to work on the project for the other member. If the project is a profit-potential project, then the members who work on it are given a back end percentage. If it is a for-profit project, members will be paid to work on the project.
Once in the group a member may submit projects for production. If they meet certain criteria, the project will be put on the slate for production. The sponsoring member must pay the associated costs for their project, (food for the crew, etc.).
Members should put the Wolfpack Film Group name on the projects that are done by members of the Wolfpack, and submit their finished projects to film festivals to gain notoriety for the group.
If a member is not contributing to the group, or cannot get along with other members of the group, they can be voted out of the group. This is not common, but it has happened before.
The Wolfpack is launching Wolfpack Film Screenings virtually every night of the week, is hosting the WPoP, is working on several projects in different stages of the filmmaking process, Is launching a Wolfpack Filmmaker Challenge, Has launched our own Wolfpack Communication Forum, and a number of other perks to being a member of the Wolfpack!
