Wolfpack Film Group
Indie Film Challenge 2007

The Wolfpack Film Group is Hosting a rather large battle of the bands event in the fall of 2007, the Wolfpack on the Prowl (WPoP) http://amfmstudios.com/wolfpack/wpop.html

To pair with this event the Wolfpack Film Group is launching an independent film challenge, and is offering one team of talented film makers a pretty sweet prize package!

The Wolfpack Film Challenge has two rounds:

ROUND ONE:
Filmmakers must register for this film challenge, choose their team, collect resources, complete pre-production, production, post-production, and submit their film by the deadline. The deadline for film challenge is May 25th. There will be screenings of the submitted work, the films will be judged, and the winner selected.

The theme of the First Round is:

Creative film content that captures and highlights the premise behind the WPoP, The Wolfpack film Group, or anything that shows people working together to accomplish something much larger than they could accomplish alone. There are no creative restrictions on this project, because we want to see every competitor’s creative style. The entry can be any genre or style. The project could be a music video, commercial, public service announcement, short film, spoof, parody, allegory, etc. The idea isn’t to spend a lot of money, but to work together to create something great. Entries will be judged on creativity, production value, and production quality while keeping in mind what different teams had to work with.

The Prize Package:
A very extensive equipment package donated by: Robin Blesch (Leader of the Wolfpack Film Group), Michael Morlan (DP and Owner of Austin Film Tools), and Christine Thompson (Publicist and Owner of AMFM Productions).

So far, the PRIZE PACKAGE includes:

ROUND TWO:
The winning team will be given the prize package for 2 days to shoot a film project of their choice: There will be one month to plan and prepare for the 2 day shoot, and then the team will be given one month for post production. The finished project will be screened at the WPoP on the big screen in front of a large crowd. There will be a good deal of industry professionals at the WPoP, so this will be a good opportunity for talented filmmakers to highlight their skills. This event will be publicized world wide, so let’s show the world what indie filmmakers can do if given some of the proper tools to work with.

I was going to make this a free competition, but I do have to cover some of my costs. So, I am going to make it $5 to enter.

This event is truly put together by indie filmmakers for indie filmmakers with the goal of enriching and uniting the indie film community here in Austin, and the intent of bringing more well funded projects to indie filmmakers in the area. All Teams do not have to be from the Austin area, because the Wolfpack Film Group has members in every major city in Texas, NYC, NC, and in Detroit.
