Wolfpack Film Screenings
Submit your films NOW, because the Wolfpack is opening 2 Screens for indie films!
Robin Blesch, Nuno’s on 6th, The Oaks, AMFM Productions, and the Wolfpack Film Group (http://amfmstudios.com/wolfpack) are Proud to announce the Wolfpack Film Screenings (WPFS).
The Wolfpack Film Group is opening 2 screens in the Austin area that will be dedicated to screening independent films. The latest press release from PRweb can be found here.
Screening Locations:
Nuno’s on 6th Upstairs, on the corner of 6th and Neches
Starts Wednesday May 2, 6-8pm
The Oaks, 10206 N. FM 973
Saturday April 21st at dusk
When:
The Oaks will be hosting "Texas Taliban" Saturday April 21st at dusk (8:30 p.m.). Formerly known as "Vice", "Texas Taliban" is a documentary by Academy Award winning filmmaker John Woodward about the Houston Police Department and their efforts to "clean up" strip clubs. This film is based on actual events and courtroom footage is included. Dan'l Terry was Director for the Texas Unit, supervising the opening sequence for the feature shot here in Austin. On the Austin crew Amanda Walker was 1st AD, and Chris Crumbliss was Cinematographer. Austin actors in the film include Katy Dunlop (Miss Congeniality), Cory Criswell (Dear Pillow), Amanda Stevens, Sarah Lasiter, Sarah Postle, and others. Dan'l will be there to answer questions about the film.
To make the screenings really great…
There is a bar at both locations, and there will be coffee drinks, pop corn, etc.
Each filmmaker will get a chance to talk a little bit about their film before or after the film plays. Then after the screenings are over, there will be a mixing party for people to mingle, talk about film, meet other industry people, or whatever.
The opening promotion is:
Filmmakers and Artists who bring a resume, business card, and a sample of their work on DVD will get in for free.
The Cost:
The regular cover charge will be inexpensive (way less than the regular movies), because the point is to bring indie filmmakers and artists in the area together, help get their work seen by others, and hopefully provide a mixing place for local filmmakers and artists who are serious about working in this industry.
Free Submission:
Independent filmmakers who want to get films on these screens DO NOT have to pay to submit. YEP IT’S FREE!
It almost doesn’t get much better than that! GO Wolfpack!
