Nick Dearman My name is Nick Dearman, I am 21 years old, and I have been living in Austin for a good 19 years now. For me, the design aspect of the film industry is what really gets me going. The fact that you can start with just a script, some words on some pages, and turn it into a complete visual experience is really amazing. Being a part of the creation of these visual experiences is what I love, and what I think film is all about. I have worked as an art directors assistant and as a grip, and both I enjoy very much. Working in the art department really makes me feel involved in the creation of the mood of a film, which is a crucial part to any movie, and gripping on set to me is almost like the glue that holds everything together. You can't get very far with out the guys that are rigging all the gear and setting everything up.
