Dale Mettam
Having graduated college, Dale
worked for a small regional newspaper
as a staff writer, restaurant reviewer and
for two hours (really, just two hours),
weekly contest compiler. Following that
he worked in advertising, writing copy
and promotional video scripts. In the
middle of writing a training video for
lawyers, Dale realized that the best bits
weren’t
the training parts, chopped those out
and was left with his first short story
about Lawyers in hell.
Since making the move away from
writing believable and sometimes
humorous lies for other people, Dale
has written screenplays, a sci-fi/comedy
novel, numerous short stories and more
recently comic books. Three shorts,
all serious sci-fi, made it to the
quarter finals of the L. Ron Hubbard
"Writers of the Future Contest."
Another short, “Heard It,” can be
seen in the upcoming Fantasist
Enterprises’ Anthology “Bash Down
the Door and Slice Open the
Badguy.” Currently sweating over his
second novel, Dale is also
developing and scripting several
comic book titles.
On the screenplay front, he’s
working on “A Knight Time Story” and
is in the early stages of developing
the script for a psychological thriller
with a director in Sweden.
