Jimmy Willden and Chris Thompson have spent the last 3 months scouring Texas for their leads, spending nearly $1,000 dollars out of pocket in search of the right actors for their movie.
They have managed to assemble some of the most talented crew Austin has to offer, including Michael Morlan whose extensive works include everything from short film to television pilots for FOX.
Robin Blesch has filled the Producer’s spot, with a production company of her own called “From the Flames,” which produced the concept film “Beowulf”. Robin also has an online film magazine called Independent Rising, with a membership of over 10,000 people. She happens to be 9 credits shy of graduation from the University of Texas and has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout.
Our publicist is Christine Thompson, who has an established track record of media coverage. She is also known as “mom” to Chris.
“Jimmy and Chris have been friends since childhood, and ever since they stole my first video camera thirteen years ago they have been making movies with Nick, my other son.” says Christine.
This is Jimmy Willden’s sophomore effort, having penned “Haunting Kate”, a short film starring James Arlen O’Keefe, in 2004.
Laura Villanueva is our production designer who has found a lot of props and set pieces in Wimberly.
They started in Corpus Christi and were assisted by Irene Carranza, owner of the Ying Yang Fandango, and the Corpus Christi Film Society’s Joe Hilliard interviewed them on local radio show 1440 KEYS. The Caller Time’s reporter Cassandra Hinojosa published a blurb, which helped bring actors to the auditions.
From there they went to Dallas where they auditioned many talented people with the help of local Michelle Farley, and had some great auditions with a few callbacks that would take place the next month.
Next was Austin, with auditions taking place in the famed Austin Film Studios, and found three extremely talented individuals: Aaron Weisinger, Amanda Brown, and Lynn Burnor whom they cast as their leads: Adam, Lauren, and Evelyn respectively.
From Here they will continue to build cast and crew with the help of Robin Blesch as producer. Dougherty Arts Center in Austin has graciously hosted the callbacks and additional casting.
There are garage sales in both Corpus Christi and Austin in early and mid November
They have secured four of the eleven locations and are in talks for four more.
