Texas has the talent to create something amazing. It's just a matter of pulling the right individuals together. What is needed is a project of a higher caliber.
We believe we have just the project.
In mid-2003, writer/director(s) Jimmy Willden and Chris Thompson came up with an idea for a new script. This idea would consume them for the next two years, as they wrote draft after draft. In late-2004 they finally reached a point where they were ready to show their work.
What they had created was Stuck Universe, a 107-page adventure from the perspective of Adam Nathaniel Abraham, as he uncovers the not-so-conventional truth about the life in which he lives.
Once revealing their script on a scriptwriter’s website called “Helium Feedback,” they received dozens of great reviews and consistently ranked in the top 100 screenplays which were reviewed. Judging by the interest generated and the emotions raised ( they were heatedly blasted as misogynists by one irate reader) they knew they had something special. Jimmy and Chris had crafted a script they were ready to pursue.
In order to make Stuck Universe a reality, they came up with a plan. The Plan: Let’s make the first seven minutes of the feature and call it “Flushed,”
The objective is to make ‘Flushed' and simultaneously shoot the trailer for ‘Stuck Universe'. These will be released to festivals across the country. Mass quantities of the ‘Flushed'/ Trailer DVD will be distributed to investors, and sponsors, and screeners (for private review) all over the United States.
‘Flushed' will showcase the film making talents of Jimmy Willden and Chris Thompson as well as a plethora of other Texas talent and filmmakers. The intent of the trailer is to show that ‘Stuck Universe' is a truly original, high-concept yet accessible story worthy of your donation.
With your help, this story can be transformed into a truly amazing film. We need to raise $10,000 to fund the short film “Flushed” and Trailer for “Stuck Universe”.
For your minimum donation of $50, you can help us push the envelope and encourage the next generation of Texas filmmakers to succeed.
