THE FUNKY BATZ TEAM BARBARA PRASHNER, FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE PRODUCER As a CPA with more than 20 years in public accounting and life long music fan, Barbara Prashner conceived of Funky Batz as a marriage of her love of music and her business know-how in order to give something back to the musicians she felt had given her so much throughout the years. And after spending 8 years working with the entertainment divisions of Laventhol and Horwath and Deloitte and Touche in Los Angeles, honing her business management, financial planning and budgeting skills, she was prepared to do just that. She began testing her event planning skills by chairing fundraisers and benefits in the not for profit arena before moving to Austin to focus specifically on music related events. Over the past several years, Barbara has been a fixture on the Austin music scene: establishing strong relationships with musicians, venues, and community members that share her passion for music. BREE PERLMAN, MARKETING AND EDITING DIRECTOR Bree Perlman started her career in publishing as an assistant editor for Penguin Books before starting her own freelance writing and marketing company. She works with clients to develop media concepts and then converts those ideas into written content for print media and web site design. She recently joined the Funky Batz team as the marketing and editing director. She works with Barbara to establish the marketing goals and best promotional strategies for each event and then provides the necessary content and editing. ANNIE MILLS, ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE Adding her years of experience in the advertising agency business, marketing, media management and her business development skills, Annie Mills is our new Account Executive. A New Orleans transplant, Annie is involved with many phases of our promotions. She’s a communicator and troubleshooter with a special fondness for music. Annie has returned to Texas where her career began. CHRISTINE THOMPSON, PUBLICIST Christine Thompson has a degree in Public Relations from The University of Tennessee and is the owner of AMFM Production (www.amfmstudios.com), a full service multi-media productions company with special emphasis in the film and music industry. © 2006 Austin Music Film Media Productions
