Dan'l Terry - Founder, President, Luthier, Artist, Writer, Producer/Director, Musician, Teacher of Mass Media.
Dan'l started Frett'd Treasures with a dream, two guitars, and a credit card. Holding multiple degrees and 1st place national awards in three different career areas (as professor, animator, and fine artist) Dan’l (dân-uhl) now turns his multiple talents to the art and science of lutherie and music.
Dan’l’s career can be summed up best as a strategic multimedia creator. In Renaissance times, he'd have been called an artist. Within that context, he's been called upon by corporations and producers to design and or develop projects as diverse as toys, intereactive educational multimedia videodiscs, museum exhibitions, murals, animations and special effects for films (Princess Peanut, others), books, magazines, product catalogs, corporate identity programs, and stage sets. He's acted in over 20 stage plays, with lead or major roles in "Hair", Voltere's "Tartuff", "Oklahoma" and others. He was seen on PBS, as Mark Twain at Seventy, in the series "Sage on Age" produced by KLVX public television in Las Vegas, and as a parapalegic in Dan Petrie's acclaimed film,, "Resurrection" with Ellen Burstyn & Sam Shepard.
Recently he served as Austin location Director for Academy Award winner, John Woodward's latest film, Texas Taliban, which in the festival circuit has attracted rave reviews, under it's earlier title, "Vice." Dan'l also designed the film's logo and developed the promotional onesheets for the film's release. He also has written several feature length screenplays for the family audience.
Lately he's been involved as Creator, Writer, and Co-exec Producer on a new cable television series about musicians and their instruments, called "Treasur'd Instruments". Legendary Cinematographer Albert Maysles (The Beatles First USA Visit, Gimmee Shelter, Grey Gardens) shot the pilot with Les Paul as the season's first guest.
